Assistant Attorney General – Privacy & Cybersecurity – Consumer Protection – Colorado Department of Law
The Consumer Fraud Unit of the Consumer Protection Section is seeking an experienced attorney to join a hardworking and creative team of professionals protecting consumer rights in Colorado. Colorado recently enacted a new privacy law, and this position will help implement that law, including defining its parameters through rulemaking, public education, and enforcement. In addition to joining an energetic team, this is a unique opportunity to work for a nationally-recognized leader in antitrust and consumer protection law—Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser. The ideal candidate will have enforcement experience and a strong background or interest in privacy and cybersecurity. This position is a great opportunity to help expand the Consumer Fraud Unit’s cybersecurity and privacy practice, and the successful candidate will help lead the Attorney General’s advocacy for the privacy rights of Coloradans. Ideal candidates will have some, or all, of the following skills and attributes: deep background in privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and consumer protection law, with subject matter expertise in consumer protection investigations and litigation; interest in how technology and networks work, and capable of learning new technologies, as well as deploying technical tools to advance investigations; strong complex litigation experience in both federal and state court and the ability to effectively handle all aspects of litigation; rulemaking experience; experience in leading investigations; excellent analytical skills and the ability to work on complex issues; and strong research and writing skills and a keen attention to detail.
Salary: $83,292.00 - $120,000.00 Annually

Assistant Attorney General - Consumer Fraud- Hemp/Cannabis Law – Consumer Protection – Colorado Department of Law
The Consumer Fraud Unit is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced attorney with an enforcement background and a strong interest in hemp and adult-use cannabis product legal issues to lead significant consumer protection litigation. The position offers the opportunity to join an energetic and dynamic team and playing a large role in protecting the consumers of Colorado. The Consumer Fraud Unit seeks self-driven and motivated applicants who ideally have strong complex litigation experience in either federal or state court and the ability to effectively handle all aspects of litigation. Assistant Attorney General – Transportation Unit – Civil Litigation – Colorado Department of Law
The Department of Law/Office of the Attorney General, Civil Litigation and Employment Law Section has an exciting opportunity to provide legal services to one of the largest state agencies in Colorado. The successful candidate will lead various high impact matters for the Colorado Department of Transportation, one of Colorado’s largest agencies. In this Unit, we act as a general service law firm to CDOT and the Colorado Transportation Commission. We also represent the Colorado Bridge and Tunnel Enterprise and the Colorado High Performance Transportation Enterprise, which are government-owned TABOR-exempt enterprises and divisions within CDOT. Our work includes filing condemnation actions on behalf of CDOT, defending inverse condemnation cases, and bringing and defending administrative actions and high exposure litigation. Further, we manage access control, highway beautification, and billboard permit disputes, and assist CDOT with protests brought under the Procurement Code. We also engage in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations with construction industry stakeholders. Our team reviews, revises, and approves CDOT contracts; assists in drafting and negotiating contracts, including public-private partnership contracts; oversees other major transactions, and provides legal advice on rulemaking, legislation, and any other legal matters that arise. We are looking for a person who excels at independently tackling new and challenging issues on a regular basis, and who is eager to engage as a part of a team. we are seeking applicants that have most of the following attributes: interest in, and specific experience with government law issues such as representing a public board, assisting with open meeting issues, open records requests and advising on TABOR issues; basic litigation skills; experience with public and commercial finance; ability to assume diverse caseload with moderate supervision and have good judgment as to when to consult teammates and supervisors; and have strong legal research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Salary: $83,292.00 - $120,000.00 Annually
